He might turn out to be one of the best Cids. But the surname Telamon definitely has me excited to learn how his story will unfold. And I know that one of the core intended references here will be the Cidolfus from Tactics who is given the nickname Thunder God Cid, but I also like the thought of a connection with Zeus (on a spiritual level).
I mean, we have a Cid who is the Dominant of Ramuh. In one genealogy he was even a grandson of Zeus. He was also the father of Ajax and Teucer of Trojan War fame. Telamon is a figure from Greek mythology who participated in the Calydonian boar hunt and sailed with Jason's Argonauts. Here are a few of my own brief observations that I'll have to develop and put somewhere else at some point.įinal Fantasy XVI's Thunder Cid is named Cidolfus Telamon. Well, it is shaping up quite nicely with all this lore.
